ten tips for giving up

Set a date to stop and stick to it.

Write down all the reasons to stop.

Keep a diary for a day or two, noting when and where you smoke.

Get help from family and friends and keep a helpline number.

Do it with others.

Ease the withdrawal symptoms, speak to your GP or pharmacist.

Prepare to stop smoking, plan treats and how to deal with 'smoky'
situations in your diary.
