So where’s the money going?
by Mark Lankshear
The table below (and the more detailed tables in the links
on the right) shows who's actually recieving the money to do the
many things residents have called for.
John Clark told the Messenger that it was good to see
a balance of local community organisations and larger external agencies
who could bring in outside expertise. "What's most important
in the end though," he told us, "is that people in the
area get the help and support they need, not who delivers it."

The ‘planned’ figures are taken from the Year 3 and
draft Year 4 delivery plan, which is not yet finalised. Both of
these are reduced to 80% as per the plan sent to Government. The
‘actual spending’ figures were supplied by the New Deal
office and are only provisional. Year 3 is March 2003-4 and Year
4 is March '04-5. In addition to the projects, 10% of the overall
budget is spent on management and adminstration, which includes
the New Deal staffing.
