New kit at the Adventure
by Rob Smith

In November, Voluntary Action Sheffield along with eight Sheffield Hallam University students helped erect a new structure on Pitsmoor Adventure Playground.

Play worker Steve Edwards told the Messenger, "It’s all been going fine but it’s a lot of hard work." They have had a large influx of local children attending in recent months. "The Adventure has become a very popular attraction for the kids," explains Steve, "And we are planning an Eid Party here on 6th December from 12–5pm. This was initiated through Amir Shah and Navid Hussian, and there will be free food, music and drinks on the day."

As we move towards December playground staff are making preparations to hold their own Christmas Party that will take place on Saturday 20th December starting at 12pm and ending around 5pm. On the day there will be free food, gifts, DJ music and a special appearance from Father Christmas.

"We shall be holding a very important user group meeting soon," adds Steve. "The main topic of discussion here will be the new building and funding through New Deal. Theme Group Manager Joice Richards will be attending." This meeting is to take place at the Adventure Playground, 7–8pm, 9th December.

For more information contact the playground on 203 9394.
