Help for tenants

Area K Tenants & Residents Association (AKTARA) is an alliance between eight tenants’ associations to work with housing in Burngreave, Darnall and Tinsley areas. Members of the Area Housing panels are elected as representatives. They deal with issues around housing maintenance, crime, environment and areas of neglect.

In response to last issue’s article on housing repairs AKTARA have asked us to recommend that Council tenants report repairs through their local tenants’ association. "This way,we can monitor the work and make sure it’s done to a satisfactory standard, we do the phone calls instead of the tenant." explained Milton Graham, from Firshill TARA.
