Aye ’n’
I Studio
by Rob Smith
Working since May and situated inside SADACCA Community
Centre, Anwar Suliman, a well-established photographer, opened his
services to the community as Aye ’n’ I Studio.
Suze Reynolds, voluntary studio manageress, explained not only
how she’d like to become permanently employed at the studio,
but also about many of the things they have on offer there. Aye
’n’ I are family photographers, but they also create
sets and costumes for local organisations and businesses.
“We run computer photography practice training and for those
aged 21 we are holding a two-day residential course at north Sheffield’s
Wentworth College.”
Any young people interested in learning the art of photography,
digital camera technology and use of the camera can have complete
access to the latest camera and computer equipment as well as a
small studio suite.
“Teaching photography is a main priority for us,” explained
Anwar. “The apprentice ideology was always a favourite of
mine, but we also work alongside other training service providers
to teach photography to this future generation.”
In moving towards sustainability Anwar and his partner, Suze, are
seeking to work in conjunction with other funded training organisations
to keep the programme going.
“Already this year we have worked with MCA youth group, Positive/Negative
Films, Problem Busters and many others.”
Aye ’n’ I Studio is situated on the second floor of
SADACCA. For more information contact Suze or Anwar on 278 7128.
