Jobs Fair

The recent Jobs Fair held at Forum House was a great success, with around 200 people coming along throughout the day to find out more about a number of new jobs on offer in the Burngreave New Deal area, as part of the Advancing Together partnership with Sheffield City Council.

Recruitment is currently underway for three new teams of workers – the Community Wardens, the Environmental Maintenance team, and a third project aimed at helping homeowners maintain and repair their houses.

There was a great deal of interest in all the jobs and John Clark, BNDfC Chief Executive, said he was delighted with the response to the Jobs Fair:

“An important part of the success of New Deal will be to create new jobs for local people and it was great to see so many residents coming along to find out about these new opportunities. The Advancing Together project with the City Council will not only make a big contribution to improving the local environment and helping people feel safer in Burngreave, but will also create a number of new jobs – so it’s a double bonus for Burngreave.”
