According to Community Learning Campaign Manager Sheena Clarke,
there are still places on some courses and, if there is enough demand,
there may even be the chance to organise new ones:
“The Burngreave Community Learning Campaign
can help you find the right course and if enough people want to
study something that’s not already on offer, we can work
with local providers to see if we can organise it.
“You may have already spotted our Community
Learning Assistants walking up and down Spital Hill or in other
parts of Burngreave. They have been busy accompanying learners
to enrolment days and assisting them with completing application
forms and obtaining course information. Or you may have seen us
at Ellesmere Green on 5th September at our Learners’ Fair
where we spent a sunny afternoon talking to people as they passed
by, and encouraging them to return to learning.
“Whatever it is you want to learn, we can help
point you in the right direction. Whether you want to get a skill
to help you get a job, improve your English or maths, want to
keep up with your children’s schoolwork or just learn something
new for fun – there are hundreds of interesting courses
in Burngreave to choose from such as Computers For The Terrified,
Build A Solar Panel, Health & Well Being, Car Maintenance;
the list goes on and on.”
If you are interested in enrolling on a course – whether
it’s to gain new skills or improve on existing skills –
please contact the Burngreave Community Learning Campaign on 279
4960, or drop in to our office at Forum House, 35 Spital Hill.
