One Love Festival

Sunday 31st August a celebration to end this year’s array of summer festive events was promoted by Burngreave Problem Busters and situated on Ellesmere Green, Burngreave.

This was an event that drew a large and enthusiastic enough crowd to again celebrate what has been a wonderful year of vibrancy, togetherness and diversity in our community.

Beginning at around eleven am Burngreave’s newly formed under 7s football team played Handleywood under 7s representing Chesterfield on Petre Street playing Fields. Handlywood won the game by an aggregate score of three goals to two.

This lay way to free food, bouncy castles, games, stalls, music and live stage entertainment on Ellesmere Green. Unitone Hi Power provided the sound system alongside DJ Chill Out and DJ Nigel, who kept the crowd warmed with local artists 3 of A Kind, Deco and Cartini, Viper, Desey D and the Asian Network crew.
