The Big Autumn Clean Up

This autumn the Area Panel is running a campaign to clean up Burngreave and we want you to get involved.

Throughout October and November we will be working with local community groups, schools and the Council’s Streetforce service to clean up our area.

We have arranged for Streetforce to do extra street cleaning across the area. To help stop fly tipping, we have also funded Bring Out Your Rubbish Days covering the whole area.

These are a chance for everyone to get rid of all their large unwanted items of rubbish. Look out for the leaflet through your letterbox letting you know when your day is and how it all works.

As part of the clean up we want to support local people to do litter picks across the area. This is your chance to get involved and make a real difference to the quality of your neighbourhood.

We will be providing bin bags, gloves, litter pickers, help and advice to anyone who wants to arrange some clean up work. To find out how you can get involved contact us or come along to next Area Panel meeting ( details on next page).

How can you help?

Do get together with others to clean-up a local eyesore, just call us on 276 9134 and we will give you all the help you need.

Do give the frontage of your home an extra clean (imagine the difference if everyone spent five minutes doing this).

Do report fly tipping, graffiti and abandoned cars by calling our call centre on 273 4567.

Do make the most of your Bring Out Your Rubbish Day, look out for the leaflet through your letter box telling you what to do.

Do contact us if you have any ideas or need any help to clean up your area.

Don’t drop litter.

Don’t put out any of the following items, we cannot take them: refrigerators, freezers, asbestos (eg old guttering), gas bottles, car tyres, car batteries, stones and bricks. If these items are placed out they will be returned.
