Internet library

It’s a volunteer experiment in
sharing information.
In a traditional library patrons come and go,
but it’s difficult to form relationships with people.
In fact, if you try to talk with someone holding a book you
like – you’ll probably get shushed! library.burngreave.net
works in the opposite way, where the library function depends
on interaction.
How does it work?
Create an account, then add books and videos
that you wish to share. Then you can search for specific authors
or titles, browse individual collections, find nearby users,
or find people who like books in common with yours.
If the owner of a book or video you’re
interested in has time for you to pick it up, you can borrow
them for a fixed period. There is no obligation to lend an
item if you don’t want to.
There is a feedback system for managing trust.
Lenders leave positive or negative feedback for borrowers
on return. These positive or negative points contribute to
an overall “score” which lenders can use to gauge
the trustworthiness of a borrower. Lenders can also comment
to be more specific.
