Staff team back in Burngreave!

From April 1st, everyone working for Burngreave New Deal for Communities will be employed directly by the company, rather than by Sheffield City Council.

This transfer of responsibility follows a lot of hard work by the New Deal personnel and development sub-committee, chaired by Mr Iqbal.

“It is great to see the staff back at the heart of Burngreave, employed directly by BNDfC.” said Mr Iqbal.

On target for delivery

BNDfC’s Year 4 Delivery Plan has been agreed by the Partnership Board and is now with Government Office for final approval.

The final Plan incorporated many suggestions from the community, following widespread consultation through a public meeting, activities at the Information Shop on Spital Hill and door to door delivery to every household of a summary of the Plan.

New Deal expects to spend almost £7 million over the next year bringing improvements to the area.

£1 million for youth

A major project involving a partnership between BNDfC and the Youth Service has now been approved for development, taking on board young people’s views gathered through the ‘Listen to Us’ project.

Around £1 million has been earmarked over the next five years for a number of initiatives for young people, including year round youth provision, more youth workers, closer working with agencies already involved in youth provision, and creating more opportunities for young people to have their say on what happens in Burngreave.
