11th April - Wheely Great
Bike ride with the Rangers along the 5 Weirs
Walk. Meet at Spital Green at 10am with bike and appropriate
safety gear.
April 20–29th – Map reading for
beginners
4 session course with Green City Action in
the Peak District. £5 returnable deposit for concessions/£10
waged.
1st May – Pond dipping at Crabtree Pond
with the Rangers
10am–12pm. Discover the magic of minibeasts
with the Rangers!
1st May – Open Up
A weekend of workshops at Abbeyfield Park
Stables with Green City Action. Workshops on Saturday 11am–5pm:
recycled leather art, sculpture and casting, solar electricity
workshops. There will also be an exhibition of local artists’
work on display. All free. For more information or to book

2nd May – Family Environment & Arts
Fun Day
11am–5pm, Abbeyfield Park & Stables.
Join a whole host of people and organisations in the park
on this springtime Sunday. Sheffield Wildlife Trust will
be there to talk about the Green Environment Programme and
forthcoming improvements to your local parks and open spaces.
Recycling Matters will be demonstrating recycling and compost,
selling compost bins and advising on all things recyclable!
Celebrate the new play facilities installed, explore the
park with the Rangers.
Workshops: Help make a recycling
sculpture and a polytunnel from plastic bottles. Cave painting
for beginners with Lois Palframan, Video screenings of ‘Peace
Servings’ and ‘Musically infectious’. Painting
to music with Panni Poh Yoke Loh. DJ workshop with Listen
to Us – Young People’s Platform.
