Jobs for local people

The latest employment figures presented to the BNDfC Partnership Board showed that jobs created through New Deal investment are on the up.

At the end of last year, a total of 188 people were employed directly by New Deal or with New Deal-funded projects - and there were a further 19 vacant posts ready for recruitment.

Of the 188 employees, 15 work directly for New Deal, with 173 posts within the projects.

More than half - 52% - of the people employed live in the New Deal area.
