5 fruit and vegetables a day

by Alison Johnson

The 5 A DAY project is showing people easy ways to eat more healthily through cooking sessions, growing projects and community cafes. Helen Scothorne, Sheffield Wildlife Trust's 5 A DAY project worker suggested,

“Try slicing a banana into your cereal to add an extra portion to your diet, or drink a glass of pure, unsweetened fruit juice each day. Remember that tinned, dried and frozen fruit and vegetables all count towards your 5 A DAY.”

Look out for the 5 A DAY logo in the supermarket to see what you can count towards your 5 A DAY.
