All Nations Adult Football League

Summer 2003 saw the development and emergence of three football teams: Yemeni United, Kurdistan United and The Boyz in Reggae. All three teams took part in the Football Unites, Racism Divides All Nations League tournament held at the Hallam FM Academy, and emerged to be amongst the strongest teams.

The Monitoring Group North made a successful bid for funding from the ABC fund enabling the Kurdish United and Yemeni United to obtain kits, training sessions and the establishment of the teams.

Ruggy Johnson, who has been the driving force for the establishment of these three teams, said “The summer league was very successful and I look forward to the future developments of the All Nations League Co-ordinated by FURD, Caribbean Sports Club, Burngreave Sports Network and the FA. Without their input and support this would not have been possible. It comes as no surprise to me that the three impressive football teams have emerged from Burngreave. The Monitoring Group is committed and upon success we will build.”
