Top Level Visit For Burngreave The man with overall responsibility for New Deal for Communities spending was in Sheffield recently to see for himself the progress being made by BNDfC.

As well as meeting with BNDfC Chief Executive John Clark and City Council Chief Executive Bob Kerslake, Joe Montgomery, Head of the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit, also met with newly-elected BNDfC Board members. John Clark said the meeting had been really useful, providing the chance to discuss some of the opportunities and challenges facing Burngreave with the man at the top: “The Neighbourhood Renewal Unit has overall responsibility for the entire New Deal for Communities programme, so it was great to meet Joe and let him know about some of the really exciting initiatives already up and running in the area. “Naturally, the Advancing Together proposal for joint working with the City Council was one of the major items for discussion, and the message came through loud and clear from Joe that New Deal for Communities is a partnership approach to influencing and improving mainstream services and therefore investment in mainstream services is key to its success.” |
