Summer Fair
 A
great day was had by all at the Firshill TARA Summer
Fair with stalls, food, prize giving and information.
BCAT's Samantha Bridden was present to
talk about various projects, and fire safety officer
John Edwards and community police officer Chris Hiles
were on hand to discuss any issues residents may have
had.
Jim Boyle, Sheaf Training horticultural
tutor, judged the Firshill best-kept garden competition
and presented the winners with their awards.
 The
winners of the Children’s Poster Competition –
based around the themes of fire safety and crime prevention
– were also announced.
Open to children from the estate and St.
Catherine's and Firs Hill schools, there were 80 enteries
in all, each receiving a £2 book token. Two winners
from each school and an overall winner each won a £5
book token and a Concord family swim ticket, and two
winners from the estate won a £10 book token each.
