It’s never
too late!
You might be way past school-leaving
age – but it’s never too late to learn. That’s
the message from the Community Learning Campaign which helped to
organise a series of events in Burngreave as part of Adult Learner’s
Week during May.
The events – organised by members
of the Burngreave Learning Provider’s Group in association
with the Burngreave Community Learning Campaign – ranged from
IT classes and job information sessions through to women’s
joinery and Arabic and Somali dancing. The taster events were organised
with funding provided by Sheffield City Council’s Adult and
Community Learning Service, the Workers’ Educational Association
and Learning Pays.
Community Learning Campaign Manager Sheena
Clarke said the week had shown just how great the demand for learning
in Burngreave is:
“Lots of people of
all ages and from a wide range of backgrounds took this opportunity
to learn something new – without having to leave Burngreave
to do it. We were delighted that many of the events proved popular
and will be looking to attract new learning programmes to Burngreave
based on what we have learned about people’s needs and the
type of courses they would like to do.”

to return to learn, why not contact the Community Learning Campaign
