| The
Creative Burngreave Project will provide artists and potential artists
with training and development to work on community Arts projects.
These projects will build on the creative ideas of Burngreave people,
ideas mentioned already include: environmental art to enhance the
streets; film-making/photography to share people’s stories
and histories linked with Galleries/Museums; enhancing the Multicultural
Festival with additional performance; training in specific art-forms
linked to work placements.
But nothing is decided yet! We will map
what already exists so we can build on the area’s great strengths.
The posts will lead the programme guided by the Arts and Culture
Group. We are very keen to involve all interested local people,
contact Sheffield Arts Education to be part of the group.
Two key jobs are now being advertised:
Arts Development Officer and Arts Administration Officer. Adverts
have been distributed in Burngreave, and will appear in the Star
and The Guardian. Closing date for applications is 16th June. For
an application form contact personnel on 293 0909. Contact Jenneffer
Dennis or Jacqui McKoy-Lewens on 221 1867, for information about
the project.
The project is New Deal funded with community
endorsement and is managed by Sheffield Arts Education.
