Sports
for Burngreave
All
is set for big developments in sports for Burngreave with new facilities
at Firs Hill Primary School and an important sports planning event
held at Verdon Street recently.
Initiated
by New Deal and facilitated by Sports and Community Recreation the
event highlighted the need for existing facilities, green spaces
and play areas to be upgraded and the need to support healthier
lifestyles and empower local people. Volunteers need to gain the
qualifications and training that will lead to jobs in the sporting
field. Others called for links with primary schools to help create
Burngreave’s own junior basketball, netball and cricket teams.
