Good start for Byron Wood

Liz TunnardAfter a difficult period before the Summer, when the school was particularly badly hit by the nationwide teacher shortage, Byron Wood Primary School has made an excellent start to the new school year.

New Associate Headteacher, Liz Tunnard, (pictured) is confident that the school can make good progress. The whole staff team has worked hard to create a calm learning atmosphere within school which is promoting good attitudes to learning. The school has been supported by the parents, governors, local community and the LEA in establishing a new code of behaviour for all pupils.

"We now need to have a clear focus on raising the achievement of all pupils" said Liz Tunnard who will be staying at the school until a new Headteacher is appointed. "All the staff here are fully committed to the school, its pupils, and the community. Only the best is good enough that's what we want to deliver and what we expect from our children their own personal best"
