Little Shop of Horrors!

By Briony Nichols and Samantha Rowberry from Firth Park Community College.

Firth Park Community College is putting on a production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors!’ a play about a singing, swearing, man eating plant. After auditions we began rehearsals.

At first, we doubted whether the play would be ready in time but now all main chorus scenes have been practiced (and perfected!?) and we are on schedule! We have choreographed dance that ended up looking co-ordinated and professional (although the teachers are too arthritic to participate!)

Our first performance of some scenes from the play will be at key Stage 3 /4 Award evenings. This will gives us all some experience and confidence in performing. Let’s just hope we all know our lines by then!

There have been some stressful moments in the putting together of the play, but with everyone trying their best it will all come together and be a fantastic show by the kids from Firth Park. We’ll be keeping you posted about our progress (that’s if the teachers don’t strangle us first).

P.S. If anyone happens to have a twelve feet high man eating plant which we could borrow we’d greatly appreciate it. Have a look in you attics.Performance Dates: 5th, 6th 7th and 8th of February
