Help for community enterprise

Employment Training

Are you thinking of employing someone for the first time? The Messenger and Burngreave IT Partnership, with the help of the Community and Lifelong Learning Team in the Education Dept, are planning to organise a residential training weekend for members of community organisations in Burngreave who are employing, or hoping to employ, workers for the first time. The course is being planned for early in the New Year at Northern College. The course content of the weekend can be negotiated to meet the needs of those people who attend, but it should cover: the basics of recruitment, good employment practice, equal opportunities etc. It may also be possible for groups to use the weekend to discuss longer term training needs in relation to employing staff. If you, or a member of your community group, are interested in attending the weekend, please ring Lisa Swift at the Messenger on 2420564 or Tony Tingle at the CALL Team on 2735382.”
