BCAF bids to become Delivery agency

At the 4th BCAF AGM on 13th October over 100 residents saw the resignation of the Coordinating Committee, including Muhammad Iqbal who has served as Chair since BCAF’s foundation. Proposals that BCAT should move towards becoming the major delivery agency for New Deal were approved. Rewarded with friendliness Mr Iqbal described some of the many successes of BCAF in his final speech to the forum, including the many projects such as ‘Listen To Us’ and Surestart that have been supported by BCAF. He said that he had been well rewarded in his work through the support, friendliness and respect shown to him by the hundreds of people he’d met from all walks of Burngreave’s life. Mr Richard Caborn MP spoke of the challenges facing Burngreave, particularly highlighting the need to work with private business and organisations like the Northern General Hospital in regenerating Burngreave.

War protests

The meeting was business-like and focused on the busy agenda for Burngreave but residents also protested about the war in Afghanistan. Loud applause greeted a speaker from the floor who pointed out the distress of many in our diverse community at these events and asked Mr Caborn when the bombing would stop.

BCAF website launched

Mr Caborn MP and members of the Burngreave IT Partnership (BITPart) demonstrate the new BCAF website which can be visited at www.bndfc.org.uk/bcaf
