DEVELOPMENT RANGER (BURNGREAVE)

37hrs per week
Based within the Parks, Woodlands and Countryside Ranger
Service, as part of the Burngreave Green Environment
Programme (a Burngreave New Deal for Communities funded
project in partnership with Sheffield Wildlife Trust).
The successful candidate will lead a small Ranger team
enhancing and promoting the valuable green spaces of
Burngreave for this culturally diverse community
Experience in team and lone working (including management
of staff, trainees and volunteers), environmental education,
community working, urban parks regeneration, practical
conservation, patrolling, leading walks, talks and events,
project management, partnership working and good communication
skills at all levels are all essential elements of the
post.
You should be able to demonstrate a flexible, dynamic
approach with a strong commitment to working with disadvantaged
groups and individuals, and experience of sustainable
green space management.
Appropriate qualifications (including full driving
licence) with at least one years’ relevant experience
or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience is
required.
The nature of the service requires regular evening,
weekend and bank holiday working.
