Burngreave
New Deal for Communities is a progressive 10 year, £52
million programme to help in the regeneration of the Burngreave
area. As we move into Year 4 of the programme, we are seeking a
dynamic and pro-active individual who will develop and implement
a strategy that links Burngreave to the wider employment opportunities
in Sheffield and South Yorkshire Sub-region to give Burngreave the
best possible chance of getting into jobs.
Employment and Enterprise Theme Manager
4 year post
Responsible for developing and implementing a strategic approach
to tackling unemployment in the Burngreave area. Creating effective
links with employment providers and identifying growth areas and
a strategy which improves the employment prospects, education and
skills of local people; engaging the community, developing projects
with diverse groups and creating opportunities for local employment
and managing the Employment and Enterprise Themes. The overall objective
is to ensure that training and educational achievement lead to long-term
routes to work. To be considered you will need to have:
Knowledge of current Employment, Training and Enterprise issues
and current policy and practice
A working knowledge of funding regimes for employment, training
and enterprise support and development
Knowledge of growth areas of employment in Sheffield and South
Yorkshire Sub-region and key initiatives linked to employment
Effective partnership working
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent team working and networking skills
Good numeracy skills
Experience of project management
