Community Health
Educators Programme
SYAC, 120 The Wicker, Sheffield,
S3 8JD.
As part of the BNDfC Community Health Educators Programme
(CHEP), the Introduction to Community Development and Health Course
(ICDH) has been a great success.
The course helps those living and working in Burngreave to explore
issues relating to their and their communities' health. The ICDH
also involves looking at and recognising the knowledge and skills
that participants already posses, which can lead to personal development,
community activity or employment.
As part of CHEP, we are looking for past participants to become
'Learning Buddies' for the ICDH course starting in the New Year.
Buddies would help new course participants by giving encouragement,
assisting with events, helping learners through advice and other
similar work.
This role involves commitment of 10 hours per week for 16 weeks
and so would be a paid position.
As well as 'Buddies' we are also seeking ICDH past participants
for placement positions within the North Sheffield Primary Care
Trust (NPCT). This opportunity offers placements that would be suited
to each individual so as to make the experience as positive as possible.
The placements are unpaid; however the NPCT will be giving full
support to those involved.
