The Recycling
Matters team are moving in!
by Recycling Matters
Many of you will have noticed the building activity at
127 Spital Hill over the last few months.
Our Recycling Information bureau is now nearing completion and
the team are moving in, ready for a Grand Opening Party in September.
Nicola Freeman, the project Information Development Worker, says:
"It’s really great to be in Burngreave.
We have seen the site transformed from a derelict shop to a recycled
state of the art information centre, and we can’t wait to
open our doors".
The eco conversion has been carried out by staff and volunteers
using reclaimed and recycled materials and local design team Handspring
Design to create a bureau that is unique and attractive as well
as practical and eco friendly.
In addition to the bureau building work, we are going to turn the
derelict land behind 127 Spital Hill into a permaculture garden,
designed by local people through design workshops and courses. If
you would be interested in being part of this project, please let
us know.
The Recycling Matters team are also looking for volunteers to help
staff the bureau, join the steering group, and promote recycling
in the Burngreave area.
If you would like to help out, please contact Ned, Nicola, Ruth
or Mick on 2798354, or email nicola@recyclingmatters.org.uk
