The
Burngreave Green Environment Programme
In 2003, as
part of a Green Audit the local community will be consulted on how
they currently view and use their local open space and what ideas
they have for improvements. The Programme therefore offers the following
posts.
2 Community
Researchers (casual). Pay: £130 per week, part time.
Approx 21–26 hours per week over four days Monday, Wednesday,
Friday and Saturday for a 5 month period, beginning April.
An exciting
opportunity for two people to work together to undertake a user
survey of Burngreave’s green spaces and consult the community
about their views on what is needed in the parks and green areas
of Burngreave.
The
following positions within the programme are excellent work experience
opportunities that aim to provide a high level of education and
training, increasing the skills, knowledge and qualifications of
the post holders.
Trainee
Survey Assistant
Pay: £8171, Full time for 1 year
To support and assist the project ecologist with the ecological
survey and assessment of the green and open spaces in Burngreave.
Trainee
Administration Assistant
Pay: £8171, Full time for 1 year
To work with the Environmental Regeneration Officer and assist in
providing administrative, finance and secretarial support to the
project.

To reduce local
problems of crime and disorder utilising the powers designated under
Schedule 4 of the Police Reform Act we are looking for a number
of staff to provide a high profile Community Support service within
the South Yorkshire Police area to carry out duties in accordance
with legislation.

Fixed Term until April 2004
£15,831–£17,931 pa plus shift and weekend working
allowances
You will undertake
high visibility uniformed patrols to provide reassurance to the
community as well as gathering community and crime intelligence
to support the activities of South Yorkshire Police.
To be eligible
to apply you must be a British Citizen or a Commonwealth Citizen
without residency restrictions, at least 18 years of age and possess
a minimum of one years’ previous experience of dealing with
the public. In addition you must hold a current, clean driving licence.
Excellent communication skills are essential combined with a sympathetic
and tolerant approach to members of the public and an ability to
relate to a diverse range of people. You must be a confident decision-maker
and be capable of responding to unexpected events. You will be required
to work outdoors and will be expected to work a shift pattern including
weekends.
