CALL SHOP
151 Spital Hill
Opened
just eight weeks ago this unique little shop situated
on Spital Hill sells almost everything for a pound or
cheaper. “We are trying to purchase things to
sell cheaper to the people of Burngreave,” explains
the proprietor Ahmed Mire. Looking around I could see
his shelves were finely stocked with food items, and,
towards the rear, toiletries; kitchen hardware and plastics;
hammers; utensils and toothbrushes. Explaining that
they also sold international and national phone and
top up cards, Ahmed pointed out the international phone
booths positiSoned at the rear of the shop. “
This is for the public to come and make cheap calls
all over the world, “ he explains. Reporting for
the people of Burngreave I guess I had to give this
a try.
